Cedar Motif

Operations and automation consulting

Operations that run the same way on a busy day as on a quiet one.

Cedar Motif maps how work actually moves through your business, automates the repetitive steps, connects the tools that should share data, and writes the procedures your team will use after we leave.

Services

Five kinds of work, often used together

Each lane shows what we do and what stays with your business when we are done.

  • Process mapping

We sit with the people who do the work and draw how it happens today: every handoff, spreadsheet, approval and workaround, including the ones nobody wrote down.

You keepA current-state map and a list of the problems it shows, ordered by how much time and rework each one causes.

  • Workflow automation

We automate the repetitive steps, using the tools you already pay for where they can do the job and recommending new ones only when they clearly earn their place.

You keepWorking automations, each with a named owner and a note on what to do when it fails.

  • Systems integration

We connect your CRM, accounting, project and support tools so information is entered once and reaches the people who need it, with a clear rule for which system holds the master copy of each record.

You keepIntegrations that alert someone when they fail, and a diagram of what flows where.

  • Documentation and SOPs

Standard operating procedures written for the person doing the task, with screenshots and decision points, stored where your team already looks for answers.

You keepA set of procedures, each with an owner and a date for its next review.

  • Handover and team training

Walk-throughs with the people who will run the new processes, practice on real cases rather than demos, and a period where we answer questions as they come up.

You keepA team that can run, change and fix the new setup without us.

How an engagement works

Six steps, at a pace your team can absorb

  1. Step 1

    First conversation

You email us about the process that is causing trouble. We reply with a few questions and, if it looks like a fit, arrange a call to talk it through.

  2. Step 2

    Walk-through

We watch the work being done and talk to the people doing it, then draw the current process as it really is, not as the old documentation describes it.

  3. Step 3

    A written plan

A short plan covering what will change, in what order, which tools are involved, what we need from your team and how we will check that each change works. Nothing starts until you agree it.

  4. Step 4

    Build in small pieces

We change one part of the process at a time, test it on real work alongside your team and adjust before moving on, so the business keeps running throughout.

  5. Step 5

    Document and train

Procedures are written as each piece is built, not saved for the end. We walk your team through them, then watch them run the process themselves.

  6. Step 6

    Handover

Accounts, access, diagrams and procedures sit with you, and nothing depends on our logins. If you want a follow-up check once the new setup has been in use for a while, we agree it here.
